i wasnt gonna say a damn thing but its not like i'm good at biting my tongue.

i grew up in SC. spent a fair amount of time on the coast. we did stupid shit in myrtle beach growing up but nothing like the BS that is happening in the last decade or so with "Black Biker Week" and other reasons to congregate in that nasty shithole.

so stop saying this is the same as its always been because its not. humans on this planet need to learn to interact and behave to some degree or this whole place is going to hell.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

The families that used to vacation at Myrtle Beach now live there. The hotels have had to drop the quality of customers to keep up with the quantity for the bottom line. The city, grasping at any event that will bring tourists and the fear of racial backlash for not bending over backwards for them creates a recipe for disaster. However, the first part of that video looks like rednecks from Aynor.

Dirty Myrtle is transitioning from a vacation destination to a retirement destination. The death of an economy is hard.

Spot on - more residential building permits being pulled there over the last 10 years than anywhere else in the state

According to Google, you are correct.

In South Carolina, Horry County consistently issues the highest volume of residential building permits.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

We could end most of the bullshit by banning everyone from NC. Most of the bullshit at the beach can be traced to Lumberton, Laurinburg, Charlotte, etc. I don’t know why they can’t stay home and shoot, beat, and stab the shit out of each other. We have plenty of local hoodlums, but most of our problems come from the north side of the border belt.

    Robeson County is rough.

Our business has gone crazy down there, Myrtle Beach and Charleston markets are up + 200% over previous year, and just hired another sales rep and a full time "permit technician" just to pull our permits there.

If you’re pulling permits in Horry, you’ll need two, one as a backup after the first one quits from dealing with their slow ass BS. Last job I permitted in Horry took 147 days to permit, job was completed in 33 days. CMB takes no time. Gtown County takes 2 weeks. City of Gtown takes 2 months lately. Understaffed with unqualified, underpaid and unmotivated people.

On one hand, we're complaining about all the yankees swarming here and then noting the difficulty in getting permits to build housing for new transplants.. I wonder if permits are being slow-walked in an unofficial effort to slow the population explosion? If so, I'm not sure where I stand. We don't have any laws that let us moderate the suffocating influx of new people.
