Looked back in my records that date back to 1996 and 2006 I had 9.95" and the end of March. I have had 7.16 at the end of March this year.

I remember in a presentation with a climatologist at the Ducks Unlimited state convention in 2006 and he made a remark that it will "take a tropical event" to bring us out of this. Later that summer/fall, we had three named storms and three mandatory evacuations (at least in Horry County, where our beach house was, Ernesto, Alberto, and Beryl.). The first one that was headed towards us, I remembered his words and laughed. By the third, I was looking up his home address to have a word with him.
In 2006, we also got a great deal of rain from "Florence" as well, but she did not come ashore or threaten the Carolinas. That was a classic El Nino and guess what? We are forecasted for one this year. Funny how things work out sometimes. MG

Rainfall being behind 8-12 inches has more to do with recharging the water table.
A 1/4-1/2 In per week will get the plant growth back in shape quick..

.4 inches in the rain gauge Sunday morning. Watching and listening to the storm approach about 10 PM Saturday night and then seeing rain fall was glorious.
We are severely dry still. Folks in SE GA are catching hell from Wildfire. Over 35,000 acres burnt and 87 structures lost at last report.

We finally have enough coming over the weir to get some water back in the reservoir. Hopefully getting a bunch more today so we can have our irrigation water by the weekend.
For the ducks
