History all but makes it a certainty. This thing most likely swings the other way when trump is done. Just the way the cookie usually crumbles. It will start in November.

P.S. you seemed to be a little more "pissy" since you retired.
I wish I was retired. I'm pissy because I'm not. And at the rate I'm getting raped by our city, county, state and federal governments it is going to be a while.

I'm not looking into opening daycares, greycares and hospice houses. Those seem to be more accepted and catered to by our governments than a ground up from nothing private business.

Crazy headline might be more REALLY bad news for Scout Motors which is owned by Volkswagen:

Volkswagen overtakes Amazon as Rivian's largest shareholder
Volkswagen has surpassed Amazon as Rivian's largest single shareholder for the first time since the electric vehicle maker's 2021 Nasdaq debut, according to a regulatory filing published on May 4, 2026.

Actually with the gas prices like they are, Trump might be the best EV salesman yet.

    Ford forgot the memo

    May 5, 2026
    https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a7...uture-details/

Last week, Ford revealed a few more details about the $30,000 electric mid-size pickup truck it will launch next year. The company invited reporters on a curated tour of its new Electric Vehicle Development Center in Long Beach, California. That facility, which officially opened last August, unites all aspects of the EV development process in two buildings totaling 250,000 square feet.

Did we see the finished EV pickup? Nope. But we did get a quick "surprise" glimpse of a heavily camouflaged development mule traveling through the yard between the two buildings before it vanished through a door. It was enough to persuade reporters that the new EV would visually resemble a traditional truck from a distance.

On a tangent to this thread since you brought up lithium battery fires, I recently read up on lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO) batteries, as opposed to lithium ion. According to what I've read, the LiFePo batteries are not subject to the likelihood of thermal runaway like lithium ion. LiFePO don't have the ability to burst power as well as ion but have excellent deep cycle capabilites, longer life and recharge cycle and much lighter weight per amp/hour than lead/acid. I've been reluctant to put lithium batteries in a boat that I park under my house due to the fire risk, even though the lighter weight and longer life would be a big advantage. Does anyone here know the real story on LiFePo in reference to fire risk?
