He had an officer on call in Richland County. The officer went to Lexington County to help with a “non serious “ call. They do this between counties. His protocol was to notify him if they did this. The officer didn’t notify him. So he called dispatch and asked the dispatcher to make a false call so he could see how his officer would scramble.

    The dispatcher snitched.

    DNR fired him

I’m pretty sure him and said officer had had some internal issues brewing before this.

Public knowledge or not, DNR publicly announcing it the way they did and all the backlash on social media has one hell of a lawsuit forming. Defamation etc. Pretty sure the public knowledge side would be to follow protocol to get the agency to say whom was fired and why. They just went all out and blasted him.

How he handled it was a poor decision. He was fired. His wife works for SLED. They both are good people. He’d been with DNR for quite sometime and ran a tight ship in Richland County.

He was arrested for BUI in front of his son and supposedly falsely. He hasn’t been happy since and has not backed off the throttle

I'd bet his son was driving the boat. That young fella has been driving boats since he was 5 or 6 y/o, not small boats either.
Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.

Just remember if your ever on a jury law enforcement officers are capable of lying, misrepresenting or misremembering. Not always, but it's possible for sure.
