Where did this originate? Doesn't look like anything DNR legal would let out...

This just came up on my FB feed------- Just saying! Well well well.. now they go public after my post with 120 shares … I was arrested for BUI a few years back in front of my son after a close friend drove my boat back to the landing and loaded it on the trailer. I NEVER drove the boat. He lied on his statements and had me arrested because he was pissed I wouldn’t speak to him about another case a couple years earlier. A few months later him and 2 other officers Washington and Pinto lied in their written statements at 601 landing then again on record in their court room. I’ve have been checked many times by other professional officers and I hate the actions of a few bad officers put a bad name on the agency. I had a well known attorney that deals with this reach out and I meet next week. Like I told them the last time I saw them and I’ll say it again… I’m not done yet !! I want all the crooked officers involved held accountable! After filing a complaint with the State Inspector General and meeting with his boss and the heads of DNR nothing was done! Now he violated “agency policy” he gets investigated and fired… I have video on my phone from every incident , the written statements, and the court recordings. I’m not done yet !

There’s a redneck on Facebook that keeps popping up making posts that’s been hot and heavy with the accusations on this officer. It’s been very entertaining to read his encounters and history with this officer when it pops up. I’ll see if I can remember his name.

What Glenn and Gbelly said, Maggie. Bryant wasn't part of the spot lighting case.

Starting to seem like there may be more than one bad apple spoiling the bunch.

Yep. If they are doing some house cleaning I feel confident that’s not the only one. Guess he was the fall guy.

Without knowing the situation, but assuming the spotlight DNR has been under, a heavy handed decision like this maybe their way of sending a hard message across the organization that certain actions will not be tolerated.

Most of these men/women are fantastic and professional. There are a few bad actors in every occupation. Good on DNR for admitting a problem.

Official Facebook account from SCDNR. That was really the point of my post; however, I might have been too quick to assume it was the spotlighting case officer. I am no attorney but this type of personnel matter handled this publicly might get an unwanted legal result for the state. I know nothing beyond what the official post, that still remains, says. MG

I haven't Facebooked in so long, maybe I am just out of touch with the way things are handled these days with social media...

I believe this may give some credence to complaints that have been filed for years that were quickly dismissed

I'm sure SCDNR is attempting to distance themselves from unscrupulous GW's who are doing anything to make a case. A lawsuit is coming from the individual who finally got Stephen Bryant fired.

I support law enforcement and wouldn't want their job but it only take one or two bad officers to sour the bunch and as of late their seems to be some major screwups happening in the field. Lying under oath should get officers arrested, it would me.

My apologies for the jump to that. I was really just shocked at the press release over a personnel matter more than anything. I picked up the first comment that was under it and should have done more research before posting. MG

SCDNR should add Ed Laney to the list.
