    Default Unique burger ideas

I love a good cheeseburger and am always wanting to try something new. Lunch Today was venison/boudin smash burgers. Mixed 1-1/2 pounds of deer burger with 2 links of boudin out of the casing. Hit it with my usual seasonings and straight to a smoking hot cast iron skillet. Topped them off with some mustard, boars head deli pickles and some smoked bbq sauce on toasted buns. What are some of your go to burgers?

Just 80/20 ground beef, salt pepper and garlic powder. I put a dollop of bacon grease in the bottom of the cast iron and run the eye on the stove at around 3 1/2 to 4 and let them cook until the juices are clear coming out ot the burger. Flip it and top it with whatever cheese you like(havarti is really good on a burger!) And yoir choice of condiments. Plain and simple but tasty.

If you're not using fatty ass ground chuck then you're making a school lunch burger.

Ground chuck, hand patted loosely enough to hold form, a grill.. salt and pepper. If you put ketchup on a burger then you have the taste of child who should be eating chicken fingers and getting out of the way of men.

70%deer/30%PORK fat. SPG. Smash burger on top of thin sliced onion, flip, add cheese when cooked(white American for me, because I’m a White American.)

Dukes on buns, toast on hot skillet while burgers are cooking.

Build and wrap up in foil for 10 minutes to steam….

Like them all kinds of different ways. Agree with a the meat w some fat. Gruyere and bacon-jam is one, or a pimento cheese burger, and the old fashioned chili-cheese (slaw) are couple of favorites.

Another one of my go to’s is strawberry jam on toasted buns with jalapeno pamento cheese, smoked bacon and pickled jalapenos.

I saw a video the other day of a guy taking 80/20 and making 1.5oz balls and smashing them in a tortilla press. The patties were the same thickness of a tortilla(obviously), but when they cooked, they shrunk to bun size and about 1/4" thick. He used 4 patties on the burger. It looked great and seemed like a great idea. I will be trying it soon.

Ground Chuck, S&P cooked over charcoal, some white American, bacon, Lettuce, mayo, mustard, ketchup. Maybe a fried egg. Or sautéed mushrooms an onion. Got to be cooked over open flame though. For a fried burger, it’s dang hard to beat Caines in Tarheel NC.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Smashed, cheese, red onion, ketchup, throw some butter down and toast the insides of the bun until it’s golden brown and I’m good to go.

80/20 in cast iron. Potatoes bun , Dukes mayo, iceberg lettuce, thin slice of red onion, and heavy black pepper. Sharp cheddar on occasion.
