    I don’t know of any 46-52 sporties that are going to cruise at 34 knots with diesels. If by “near” you mean 30 knots then ok for the ones over 50....maybe. What have you sea trialed? I’m worried about your expectations. I hope you get exactly what you want and enjoy it truly. But again expectations for the owner operator. And for what it’s worth, some of the very best boats and crews that I know of on the E coast that fish the entire circuit and then go to CR and fish their series at Los Suenos too chug at 10 knots at night when they’re moving the boat distance that requires running at night. You’re not just going to show up and step on your diesel sporty turn the key and go firing off in the night with the tv and AC blowing through Winyah Bay of all places so you’re watching nautical twilight turn into a sunrise at the Scarp or GT Hole. . A friend damn near ripped the 250 off the back of his CC by hitting a submerged tree he couldn’t see in the daytime with a rootball the size of your hood of your truck in Winyah Bay IN the middle of the channel after Helene. He had a professional capt that runs a sporty standing there at the helm with him. For owner operator IN SC, a huge cc add a seakeeper and get an express version with a generator and ac below and on the bridge if you want. Spencer again has made a few of those that are out there. I don’t know if for sale or not. That 40ish Freeman will run more comfortable and faster than any 52 sporty, you’ll just be outside. Sounds crazy, they don’t look traditional, but I’ve done it. Add the convenience of outboards and it’s a no brainer. I’m glad to talk if you want to pm me.

    Has bedrooms, holds 1400 gallons of fuel, seakeeper, and should run plenty fast.

    I can't even afford a boat with twins, so my input should rightfully mean very little, but I can't imagine wanting to deal with the headache and extra expense of owning a boat that wasn't trailerable. A 56' CC is obnoxiously large and makes my eye twitch but that Freeman is a nice layout

    Here is something enjoyable you can look forward to, Phillip. I removed and cleaned my racors and changed secondaries over the weekend. Of course, west marine (two locations) only had one racor gasket kit. I was worried about losing prime, but the engines started and ran smooth for twenty minutes.

    To me, order of importance would fall on, #1 what is your typical run to the fishing grounds? That would determine motor size first. A cruise in the mid 30's is desirable but would also mean something north of 3000hp with a 60-80% load. In todays builds a 50-ft sportfish typically needs ~60–80 HP per foot to reach 35–40 mph. Speed also equals fuel burn. Building a boat is a balance of Speed, Seaworthiness, Fishing function and Comfort. My considerations would look like:

    1. Hull Design - deep-v, deadrise angle, weight distribution, beam, spray rails/chines/lifting strakes, bow flare
    2. Power - Total horsepower 2500-3500hp (CAT, MAN, MTU) key in mind fuel capacity
    3. Cockpit - large cockpit (120-160 sq ft), fish boxes with macerators, live wells, transom door, fighting chair, ice maker, water maker, seating/shade
    4. Visibility - Tower (if your into that), MFD's, night vision/FLIR, Open array radar, Omni if budget allows, autopilot, Starlink, VHF's, AIS, Emergency beacons, backup nav system
    5. Comfort - Gyro, Bridge/Cockpit Seating & Shade, 2-3 staterooms, Comfortable Salon, good fire suppression, big windows for visibility, zoned air conditioning (salon/staterooms/bridge/cockpit), 2-3 heads, TV's + speakers, refrigerated drink boxes, Full Galley, storage,
    "run and gun guide service"

    I am just glad to know that the mouth of the Sampit is habitable. We grew up hearing it was the most polluted river in the state. You haters do know that you are free to approach the guy who put his money down and buy it from him right?

    The Sampit is a polluted, disgusting body of water. There are no fish and it's too crowded. Alligators and garfish are the only things that live there.
