I hope that left a tiny scar. One for memories sake. Bucktails ,broke back rapalas and flukes behind a water cork at the buzzards roost in the early morning caught a ton. At night , a Zara spook or jitter stick was the way to go. The night bite was always better. I miss those too water blowups under a full moon.
Haven’t done that in a few years. This thread has me motivated. Thanks.

Yes sir. They still make them.. not the quality they used to be. Still can find the older ones at yard sales occasionally. The action is much better with the old ones.

    Yep

It did for a bit, I just pulled my shirt up trying to find it.. but I've got a good many scars. I've done some stupid shit in my life, it's like a scrap book of memories.

I still have some old devils horses somewhere. I also have a bunch of old heddon lures that were my grandfather's. Striper swipers were great until they got too chewed up. A blue and silver ChugBug is where its at. I have one that I found in the river without a scratch on it. I put that thi g through hell. I caught them on top in the river in early March one year and beat the rat piss out of them. Rockfish that is. I swung one in the boat and like a dummy, I ended up with a treble hook in the sweet meat of my right hand. The problem was my pliers were on my right hip. I caught hell trying to hold it down and get my pliers out with my left hand. Found a dirty oil rag in the box, wrapped my hand up and kept fishing. That one was 12 lbs.

These posts are bringing back great memories. I remember when the Sammy’s came out for like $13 a lure, thinking I could afford them as a young teen and slinging them into trees.

    Big Bass
Fat 9 inch purple Manns worm
    Devils Horse in the summer

Mepps spinner and beetle spin Bream bass and crappie

White bass triple header!!! Tied a jig to Mepps spinner to a Little Cleo and caught triples.

We did a lot of night fishing under the pier lights Sling a striper swiper at the edges of the light then a little George or bucktail and pick up a striper. Cast a devils horse near the pier for a largemouth. Chunk a black Mann's worm UNDER the pier. Finish with a live mayfly for the bream.

Rinse and repeat at the next dock. 12 ft Jon boat with a 9.8 Merc all night.

I was about 10 or 11 fishing on hartwell throwing a devil horse up against rip rap off an I85 bridge. Thought I hooked a log, until it started swimming. Fought it for what felt like forever and it broke me off. A few minutes later it jumped within 15’ of the boat, shook its mouth, and I could hear and see the devil horse shaking in its mouth when it breached. It was a grown one, it gave me a good FU before it was gone forever.
