Ha, don't worry.. my jon needs steering cables replaced or fixed, they went out last duck season. It's sitting near our ramp at the river, still untouched. I'm going to fix it by next season, and fish that spring.

Damn nice catch WF. Love to have a mess of crappie filets. Got a infusion on the 12th, quail hunt on the 17th, and a work day on the 21 so maybe i get the old boat out and running this weekend.

I feel like they're keep more water in the Wateree, more then they used to. I remember talk about it and why.. but I only fished it a couple times last year. I enjoy going in off our ramp, the run is right near it, so when it's low it's right around chest level, then from there up the river a little ways, and to a little below I20 is easy wading

In my younger days and no boat, you knew the stripers were running up the Saluda when the dogwoods started blooming. We use to go behind the Lake Murray dam and throw buck tails and striper swipers.

We'd buy our Striper Swipers from S&S in what is now the Vista. They didn't sell any other fishing gear I can remember. It was a front for some shenanigans that we were expressly told by the adults who mattered not to worry about it. We got our plugs and that was that...

I loved those things, the Zaras. I threw striper swipers forever as well, then the smaller floating popper for white bass.. my second favorite growing up for white bass were little georges, you could chunk those things. Later in life I began throwing stingray jig heads with plastic.. buckheads were nice like the jig head and plastic when schooling hard so you didn't have to mess with treble hooks.

I was probably 16 the last time I threw a ss.. I had one snatch out and hit me in the gut and embed. Boogers had some weight behind them.

I have 4 or 5 old Spooks. I took the hooks off my bullfrog one, hoping nobody will donate it to a marsh carp...
