Need help taking kids out of state turkey hunting-Merriams? or whatever

I have 2 boys still at home, senior in high school and a 13-year-old. Our spring break plans got messed up and the wife asked them what they wanted to do.
The oldest immediately said let's go turkey hunt somewhere, Merriams?

Spring Break for us is Saturday April 4th-Sunday April 12th.

We are open to a guide or DIY or a combination.

We hunt a lot here locally and we have done South Texas for a turkey hunt, but we haven't been anywhere else for turkey.

We aren't completely stuck on Merriam's. I am just looking for some fun with the boys before they are gone and all grown up.

That’s pretty early for where I am in South Wyoming. Not sure what the season is this year, but if it’s open that early out here, they will all still be grouped up pretty good. Might be different this year with the stupid warm winter we’ve had. Makes for some easy killing if they are grouped, but that’s about it.

I think I’d be looking at Texas or Oklahoma to scratch off a couple of Rios if you are set on doing an out of state hunt.

April 4th is still way early for Merriams seasons but take them out of school the last week of April/first of May and go west. They're only little once and I promise, you won't regret the memories. I've spent a lot on out of state trips with mine and I don't regret one penny that I've spent. The pics and memories will last forever.

Shoot, pick a state not too far that has decent public access and go chase em out the truck with a couple hammocks, tents, grill and have fun
