Had a good many birds for third split opener. Decent shoot. Left with warm weather, got a report that some showed back up today.

We had a shoot in Clarendon County last Saturday and it was pretty darn good for December.
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him
He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right
They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands
Feeding birds are pretty concentrated on the timing today I'm guessing I just saw 300 and they still coming. A friend just called me wanting to shoot his field tomorrow afternoon in Allendale County.

Those of you who still have standing flowers....
Assuming you've had birds using your field, there comes a point where seed on standing flowers is no longer accessible to a dove and they need to be mowed and dispersed on the ground.
Birds eat the edges from the head and they simply can't reach the rest of them.
I've been mowing weekly since mid November to keep fresh seed available and will continue until they're all down.
Just food for thought....

Good one today.... They came later than I would have expected.

Nice, I like winter doves.
Went and sat in a field this afternoon solo since my girls were occupied. Saw 2 birds. Last weekend was great not sure where they went.

Ha.....wasn't a shot fired until 245 yesterday and it was a steady trickle across the field until 320.
Two flights came in unison like blackbirds across the field prolly 500 or so and never returned....assuming they settled in a nearby ag field.
The steady trickle continued to produce.
Those big flights are amazing....

Well I mowed the last few rows of corn and sunflowers yesterday. Corn is all over the ground and has been for months. Didn't see a single dove. Didn't get a single hunt out of the field this year. It's going to be hard to motivate myself to plant again next year.
