It's no longer a guarantee. I have come down here in recent years and had bad hunts only killing a couple in a session. This year there were more ducks in the area than the last two however there are more hunters too.
Precisely. More & more will go until it's no longer worth it.

Call me a wuss, but I did feel a bit of regret in Argentina related to the duck numbers. We hunted for five days. Honestly, by the fourth day I felt that I had done enough killing. 3 1/2 days would have been about right.

I came out of mexico friday and the while waiting on luggage in customs i talked with the old man that has worked that same area of the airport for 27 years. Said up until covid, there were 10-15 hunters a flight during peak times, now its 60. Every damn thing is leased out, etc. Cops are catching on to it also. We had to bribe our way out of a road check as he was making up laws about guns he had checked the day before. Never had that happen in 8 times down there.

We did. Several times in the 90's. One busload of hunters headed to various camps got stopped between Reynosa and San Fernando. A guy on the bus had a single shell in the pocket of his duck coat. They made everyone on the bus give up every dollar they had or they were taking him to Mexican prison. People who who had never met him had to kick in.

Mexican Mallards as mentioned in reply #24. Probably rarer than an American Black duck (for now).

And in post #12... Basically a spoonbill massacre after I killed that mm. I still have no desire to shoot shovelers anymore, and zero to eat them. BI Springfield was so slow that Chessbay and I probably would have taken a few.. I'm kind of happy for my palate
