Mexican Mallards. There was a billionaire from MX City on the Refuge forum decades ago who specialized in killing them.

William F's son has a blind a short walk from his house in MC.. we've talked about the amount of ducks he's killed a few times.

From my experience down there, the cartel is more trustworthy than the federales.

I’ve been……..not going back anytime soon. I crossed in Brownsville, TX. Drove 3 hours south down the highway of death in a blacked out suburban going through more 50 caliber armed checkpoints than I care to ever do again.

It’s not safe…….anyone pretending it is, is crazy.

Cartel is everywhere and has pulled over and fucked with some of the guys I’ve hunted with. Not a fun experience.

However, it was the best duck killing trip I have ever been on in my life. I killed more pintails and redheads in one day than most people will kill in their life.

    These are two gun hunts.

Yep, even years ago, if you had the eye, you could catch the bribery. When your driver cups his hands near the front mirror while at a stop.. being surrounded by armed federales can move your eyes away from that. It was always my feelings that some of those dirt roads were to evade checkpoints.

Rueben at the time was more welcomed, it wasn't a gringo operation.

Last time I was in Mexico, about noon one day we heard them open up with automatic weapons outside the place we were staying. Nobody we asked admitted any idea of what happened. Got back to the world and they had shwacked the police chief, at high noon, on main street. Isla Mujeres fishing was fun, but y'all can have it. I can catch dolphin off the beach in Croatia...

Thank you for confirming that hunting the Ravi river in Pakistan will be safer than Mexico. My wife will be thrilled.

The hunt was 3450 plus shells and a 400 tip. Airfare was $500. I wasn’t worried one minute about anything with the cartel. The only time the cartel was seen was on a dove hunting trip that I didn’t go on. He was counting the trucks that came down the road he didn’t know. Ruben has his name on every truck and going thru the check points are easy. He has a pic of your passports and hunting licenses. Going into Mexico was way worst than coming back into the US. One of our guys had a case of beer that he bought in Brownsville they talked at the boarder for a second then we were on our way. The food was ok not the best. No bourbon unless you brought it with you. Plenty of tequila and Mexican beer you always had a cooler with you in the blind and truck. For some reason I can’t post all the pics.

It’s really nothing to be nervous about. I would go with a native outfitter than a big outfitter out of the states. They look down on them

I killed 37 pintails one morning. I also shot a triple on black ducks and teal one morning and a quad on shovelers. The doves are incredible I shot a flat of shells in two hours.
