GREAT story , that memory will ever go away and congrats on the pintail

Hey I completely understand the pluff mud, had not duck hunted in probably 10 yrs. Buddy kept putting us in and we got drawn for Cedar Island. Biggest concern I had was 63+ yrs old and pluff mud and I was right.

Plenty of ducks and while my buddy ventured a little bit away from our original set up he did not go far either . We had plenty of teal buzz us . Even had 3 different pintail drakes work but not close enough for shots , still beautiful to just watch them

Like You I just enjoyed the day and sat that and enjoyed my thermos of coffee and Gods creation. We seemed to be in one of the bigger ponds and honestly if I were going again I would take a damn trolling motor and lithium battery if I could .

Disappointed no blinds, from what I recall last time I was there we had blinds and they told us to set up there and move when we saw where ducks were going. Not sure why do not have any there

    Still enjoyed the day

Again great story and neat way it came together so quickly.

Thanks everybody. I'm normally a compitant wingshot. Not on the level with Gander or Fish but I can usually knock down a limit of doves with less than a box and a half of shells. On a good day with a box. Just plain out lost it there for a little while. But it all worked out in the end and is a day I'll never forget.

The mud there doesn’t make shooting any easier

Fantastic stuff with your son! It's a special place, and I'm glad you had a great hunt. Achi (The German dude) and his staff do a great job of management and running the hunts down there.
