Default Kennedy letter to the US FWS

He wrote what I perceived to be a scathing letter to them in regards to flooding corn. Can anybody post it up?

Thanks! I really don’t have a very strong opinion, but I do think it’s about time to stop that practice.

If and when it were to become a normal agricultural practice then I would be fine with it.

It will never happen. Just like releasing mallards won’t stop. Too much money involved and the ones that partake in the practice are to powerful and connected.

Personally, I would not bet that it won’t happen. However, it will be one hell of a uphill battle.

To any of you that were offended by this letter, I am with you. Let’s set in the blind and discuss it. Have gun, will travel.

Exactly. Same reason we aren’t in a 30/3 cycle right now. Too much money being made off of the resource. “Adaptive” harvest management my ass….

That letter says that the folks at the south end of the flyway aren't making enough money from the resource so the folks at the north end of the flyway are selfish.

    So, Stop!

None of this is saving ducks, it's just arguing over who gets to kill them.

I plant and flood corn, rice and other crops as well as natural veg.
I will get behind stopping the practice only after MRP in all forms has been made illegal.

He is representing the state of Louisiana who, by my reading between the lines is not killing the Ducks they used to. I just got back from Hyde County North Carolina, there's no question they are short stopping a massive amount of ducks from getting to South carolina. However, it's still a Level Playing Field and it is what it is. We are like Louisiana at the end of the Flyway.

Normal, like bush hogging corn and sunflowers?

I agree. I am sure he is getting two EARS FULL from his state and is looking for any way to advocate for them. He is doing the job he is elected to do.

The disparity between what is acceptable for doves versus Ducks is lunacy!

They should be the same whether you can manipulate or you cannot, they should be the same thing.
However, where do you draw the line with waterfowl and flooding crops? I don't know the answer to that because that is comparing apples and oranges.
I stand by my conviction I will not get behind anything until MRP is disbanned!
