Anyone been recently? Thinking of a last minute trip. Any reports of birds or no birds would be appreciated. I’ve got a couple of guide contacts but I follow the old adage “trust, but verify”. If you know a good guide, I’m open to suggestions Thanks

I was there last week. It went from 74 and swatting mosquitoes to 21 with 40mph wind gusts and a wind chill of 5 degrees. We bought an ice eater and generator but it didn’t matter, no birds. When the front came through, the ducks went with it. The snow geese were plentiful and there were specks still around when I left. I went down to Louisiana to visit my daughter’s crew and I found the birds. Of course I wasn’t there to hunt so that sucked. I did talk to my buddy this morning, who is still at the club in Arkansas, and he said that it looks like the reverse migration is starting. They were in a pit shooting geese when I talked with him and he said there were mallards working and he had to go. I haven’t called him back yet. That’s in the far northwest corner.

I've hunted around 25 days out there this season. Hunting was great up until Christmas. From the 12/27 - 1/2 was some of the slowest hunting I've had in the last decade. Mix of around 20 days public and the rest private. Headed back out Monday.
I know two people out there in different areas and it pretty much sucks. Killing very few and just a few geese.

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
Missing you my great friend.
Driving out of Nebraska today. Warm. 62 degrees.
Zero very few ducks and geese the last week. One are on NW corner of Missouri had some snows working around the river bottom.
Everything was frozen solid end of last week. Dogs walked across the creeks this week while pheasant/quail hunting.
Was there couple weeks ago and did good. Leaving Friday to go back out for a week

Got back yesterday. Some ducks scattered around on that cold front. Geese were everywhere snows and specks. Dead snow geese everywhere from Bird Flu. Eagles keeping ducks spooked on our lease. They are there because of all the dead snows to eat.
But most importantly- NO WATER. It’s dismal. I was told that the gauge at McCrory shows right at 7 feet below flood stage.
Thanks guys. Talked to a guy today who said it’s hit or miss out near Dewitt but not bad. He also said it’s extremely dry out there.
