Default So - Who's Getting Their Free Tax Stamps This Week?

So, eForms seems to chugging right along. I've read of some lags after midnight, but apparently its going pretty smoothly.

Reports of control numbers vs submittal timesstamps today show well over 10k submitted already.

I took some pics and measurements earlier of a handful and will submit sometime over the weekend.

It'll be interesting to see how long these take.

I somewhat assume my document uploaded waiver letter (24-mo exception letter) may help speed things along, but who knows?

And - remember - Steelin' has AR lowers that he sells as SBRs (this way you don't have to get it engraved)!

    Good luck!

I paid the $200 stamp last month for a Dead Air Mask .22 suppressor and form was approved and suppressor shipped to my door within 12-14 days
I wasn't going to take a chance on what this would look like come Jan 1
I want another for my 300 Blkout but will wait and see how this free tax stamp lead times look first

The sooner you submit, the sooner it gets processed...

Waiting only makes the wait longer...

    See - maths.

I'm waiting on Patrick to receive my latest .22 can so I can begin that wait.

I was going to submit for a OCL Ti 22 awhile back to avoid this potential backlog, but got forgot about it and delayed too long. It's now in via SS so we'll see long it will be. I never thought about the exception letter, but hopefully SS submitted it based on my account history.

The exception letter is only for Form 1's.

You'll love the OCL. I currently have 5 rimfire cans (& another OTW), and the OCL murders the competition.

NEXT, I wanna get a B&T Print-X Tiger to see how it compares. I think that'll probably be my final one, until I find a decent $150-200 can.

I keep trying to pressure Phillip (Innovative Arms) to start running cheap rimfire cans again. He says he will when things slow down a bit.

Hybrid 46 & Rugged Obsidian 45 (with 2 end caps) would be decent choices. Or, buy an Obsidian 9 & 45.

I'm pretty happy with my RO9. However, my OCL Lithium is a good bit quieter.

The Rugged is modular, if that matters any. However, mine is rarely in short configuration.

If you wanna support local - Innovative Arms' Shepherd is a great .45 can, too.

You're welcome to come over & try out some different shit if you ever want to.

Any recommendations for a Tikka T3X Lite in 308? And do I need to get the stock 22" barrel cut down prior? Happy New Year's, rednecks.

My son has the Otter Creek Lab Titanium .22 and I have the Dead Air Mask
Exact same ammo, same gun and they both are the same quietness, but the Dead Air first round pop is way better, almost non-existent

I got a Dead Air Sandman X about a month ago. We submitted at 4:00 on a Monday and I was processed and picked it up the next afternoon….maybe 24 hours.

I have a Scythe Ti with the no stamp route waiting on me, hopefully I get it quickly.

I’m very happy with the Sandman X, it will run on any 30 Caliber gun. Mine is on an AR in 6 ARC, it’s a blast.

I've been eyeing the scythe. What is this "no stamp route" of which you speak?

The Big Beautiful Bill that went into effect today eliminates the requirement to purchase a $200 tax stamp for a suppressor. You still have to do all the other stuff, but they just got $200 less expensive.

Depending on how far you wanna reach out with that 308 would dictate how much I'd cut it down. You can look at some ballistics charts on different barrel lengths and see what you'll be losing when you get shorter.

As far as cans go, I'd suggest a SilencerCo Omega 300 if price is of any concern. It's old and proven, and SiCo has one of the best warranties in the industry. It's a tad heavy, but it's effective and inexpensive. SiCo also makes the 36M (which pretty much lives on my 6.5 PRC). It's modular and quieter. I've had it for a while and moved it around to other weapons and have never been disappointed.

I'm guessing you got the same outstanding deal I got on that can...

    Half-price was fuckin' awesome!

I'm waiting with you... Hopefully it won't be months before I can pick it up.

Google Scythe Ti failures. Maybe a reason they are half price

Well, I'm guessing well over 10k are out in the wild. A couple hundred problems ain't bad.

    Shit happens.

I'd guess 20-30% of failures were due to operator error. (Walking off or barrel length.)

SiCo has an excellent warranty with fast turn arounds. I'm sure every one of those were handled in a timely manner.

I'll take my chances with a $649 titanium can from a reputable company. If it busts, I'll send it in and get another.

I bought a KGM R30 on the 13th of Dec and haven't heard anything yet. They were saying 7 days back then. Not my first can so I was hoping it would match up with what SC was saying online.

ATF emails were down during that time frame.

Call your FFL. They need to login and see if it's been approved.

Otherwise, no one will ever know.

Or, contact the ATF and get the status.

It should have already been approved.

I got an email from them showing it was submitted/in progress but nothing else. She logged in around the 23rd or so and it showed the same status. She did 2 that day and both showed the same thing. As far as I know, the other guy is still waiting as well. I'll try and call them and her tomorrow and see what's up. Thanks
