    This morning we had a Hooded Merganser swimming in my pond, could be this ones twin

    Very common but cool birds for sure. I've heard the drake making their unique call multiple times before shooting light in my pond. Sounds like your stomach after Thanksgiving dinner lol

    Not the brightest of the duck species!

    It bothers me in my head when I see kill pics of them. There's also a reason why the limit is one, guess it still is.

    I have a half dozen in my little fish pond behind the house. They come and go all day. Drive's my lab nuts.

    A flying trout!

    My dad called them "Rice Mergansers" due to the white crest looking like a grain of rice when they're flying.
