    Default New herbicides for Clearfields

I have done pretty good in the past keeping a clean field using Dual II Magnum and Spartan Charge as a pre-emergent, and then coming behind with Impose at the 6 leave stage. I'm out of chemicals, and naturally I'm running into issues getting what I've always used. I'm looking at using Brawl as a D.M. replacement, and 12.1% Izamox as a replacement for the Impose. I can still get Spartan Charge. Have y'all used either of these?

Also, I always used 4 oz/acre of the Impose with a surfactant. In doing some new reading, I'm seeing that I should've been adding Nitrogen as well. I'm going to try Nitro-surf nitrogen with surfactant this year with the Imox. Have y'all used the Nitro-surf with Cadre, Beyond, or Impose and at what rate did you add it?

Without my notes, I can't remember what surfactant I used last year with the Cadre post emergent.

What have you read that is advantageous about nitrosurf? Putting nitrogen directly on leaves seems like it woud risk burning them.

I split my nitrogen application, usually broadcast granular at planting then I come back with the other half with liquid, side-dressed, ideally around the same time I apply the Cadre. On some of my non-parallel, crooked rows, I've accidentally dribbled the nitrogen on some plants and they hated it.

My info on Nitrosurf was coming from comments in other forums where I was reading about using Beyond/Imox, and they were saying for optimal results to add nitrogen and surfactant .

Nitro-surf was suggested several times about being a good pre-mix to add. I'm going to continue researching now because you have me worried!

I wouldn't advise changing plans based on anything I've posted. I'm an absolute newb at anything farm related. It just surprised me that nitrogen can be added to foliage. But just like everything, toxicity is in the dosage. Maybe nitrosurf is just enough to cause better take up of the herbicide but not strong enough to burn. I'll ask my seed and feed guy when I see him.

Well Water? Check the PH of your water and adjust accordingly. This was a game changer for me.

What pH are you aiming for and what to you add to adjust it?

Adding or spraying 28%N to your pre emerge spray mix does nothing except add more N to the total amount of fertilizer you put out correct? It's not going to help any with weed suppression right?

I think adding N to your herbicide mix helps with the uptake by the weeds.

That would be 30 units N premerge. Come back at topdress with 50 N 40 P 80 K. Zidua is a residual herbicide only.
