My kid switched about 2 years ago because his school uses MacBook (which sucks). We haven't noticed that he's on something else.

Wife and I are still running Android, and will until the day we die.

Always been interested how dedicated iphone users can be. Any other system has better battery, camera and maps and nobody ever really disagrees with that. Maybe the social media stuff is better but that's not for me. Also don't really care to be absorbed into some technology "ecosystem" that I don't need.

Each seem to summon other cell phone users in an acceptable manner

I had a personal Android and a work iPhone for years. Made the switch to iPhone 100% when my son was old enough for a phone. Once you understand icon menu vs list, iPhone is easy. Settings menu is the only thing that takes some work to learn.

thats not communism. thats just plain common sense.
That's an apple issue, not a android issue.

There's also a workaround by changing one setting on your stupid apple.

I just left an employer whose standard issue is a windows laptop and a friggin iPhone. I hated it. Going back and forth between the 2 platforms is maddening.

Lo and behold I start a new job on 12/1 and of course they are on the iPhone platform as well. FML

I can't recall exactly cause again it's an apple issue, so it's not my problem.

But there's a setting in there somewhere, a check box that allows shared media to be compatible with Apple iOS.

Let me see if I can find a link to the video.

Ok, think I found it... so on your iPhone's settings menu, scroll down to 'Camera' go to 'Formats'. You'll see 2 options Hi efficiency and most compatible. It defaults to Hi efficiency, toggle it to most compatible and it should fix that.

I watched a long video on how Apple refused to adopt SMS, then as tech advanced RMS came around and then in true Apple fashion cause they're a buncha pampas assholes, refused to adopt RMS. Their collective who knows no limits.

The video included a clip where a reporter who was obviously an android user was telling the Apple leaders about the struggle he experienced while attempting to share a video with his grandma who is an Apple user. He went on to ask about Apple's absolute refusal to adopt the industry standard compared to creating their own texting/media sharing protocols... the dick from Apple responded with "just get your grandma an iPhone". They refuse to play well with others, always have, prolly always will.

I've been trying to tell people this for years. IPhones are the problem not the Android. Edited to say the world would be a better place if we all still had flip phones.

Switched to IOS platform years ago and have not looked back. Apple is vastly superior in my opinion. Customer service is TOP NOTCH, also... so much so that I trashed my PC and went to a MAC, several years ago. No problems... If I ever have a question, all I do is call customer service and it is solved. You can't do that with Droid platform.

Dude, I've NEVER had to engage customer service for Android. EVER

It just works. I don't need an iTard to hold my hand to teach me how to operate my device.

I'm an Apple guy mainly because of their laptop and tablets. IMO nothing is close to working well and lasting a very long time. My MacBook runs just as fast as it did when I got it 4 years ago. Same with any iPad we've ever had. Any PC I've ever had started to suck after a couple of years. I'm no tech wizard but I think that is why people like Apple. It just works and you don't have to know much to have a really nice integrated system. I couldn't imagine not being able to text from my MacBook. Little things like that make it hard to move. And I've had iPhones since the iPhone 4. I've had zero issues so I keep getting them. They are like a Toyota truck to me. They may not have all the new fancy things, but they work and don't break. Plus, I don't know what y'all do, but I just need it to do the simple things. I don't need all that fancy customization and all that jazz.

Imagine having to call customer service over a phone...
