    Default 11/14/25 6 Point

I haven’t posted much this year but I figured I would share this double main beam 6 point from this morning. I’ve had a camera on an overcup oak tree since September and a group of does have been hammering them every morning for the past week. This buck showed up on camera Wednesday morning and fed for about 30 minutes and bumped the does around. This morning the does showed up like clock work and fed for an hour and left. At 8:20 I let out a few grunts and within a couple minutes he came marching in to 24 yards looking for a fight.

CW you are a helluva big buck killer. So I only say this with a just a little bit of meanness.

You camera’d this deer this week and therefore knew just exactly when to go sit and kill him. Do you feel less of a woodsman and that you cheapened the experience?

No, I hunt that spot multiple times a week when the water level is right to access it. The majority of the deer walk around that camera so I hunt it regardless of what the camera says.

Awesome buck, any visible injury on his left side? Did you have to shoot him twice?

He had a small tumor on his left rear leg. First shot clipped the spine so I put another in him.
