    Default SCDNR Draw hunts

Anyone know when they actually do the lottery's for the draw duck hunts

Have not been on one in years, used to get drawn every year , but we started putting in for them again

Think this is year 4 or 5 so kind of expect us to get drawn

Honestly trying to plan some continuing ed classes but holdng off till we find out results

    TIA

I got my notice of unsuccessful draw last year on 10/28. 4 points might get drawn. 5 definitely should, IMHO.

Yeah, it usually takes a few days to correct issue prior to hitting the "go" button on the program that assigns hunters/hunt parties to slots.

For example, they had to fix my preference points from last year. I experienced a glitch where the website timed out when I was going through the process of entering dates...I only discovered this when I clicked "Send" or whatever and got the error. So I got logged back in and on the 2nd go around, I was a couple whiskeys in by that time, and didn't notice it 'til the next day after the application was submitted that my buddy's name was not on it. And of course, I got drawn... I called Ms. Kearse and explained. She said she would withdraw me from the hunt, restore my preference points and she ended up not doing it. So fast forward to this year and I reengaged her the day after the application, and she recalled the conversation. She had to send an email someone else to have it fixed before the draw. I can only imagine how many various issue like this they deal with each year, but that just goes to show some of these back ends processes take time to sort out.

    Shouldn't be much too longer.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!
