    Default Easton 5.0

Garbage. 4th one I have splintered/snapped/broken in some way on hits that most other arrows laugh off. From my understanding the 5.0 is an axis without the white layer that made it legendarily durable, albeit heavy.

Hope this saves someone the money.

Glad I went with the TKOs this year instead of the 5.0 like I was thinking about. I shot 5mm axis for the last 5 seasons and they were tough.

I use the new 7.0. They are heavy but they stay together. Glenn put me on them.

The 5.0 isn’t in the conversation with the axis as far as durability. Really happy with how they fly, and they were perfect on the spine tester. But they are fragile. I’m still taking them to Kansas next month, but I won’t buy them again.

Im shooting the 4mm Axis. They fly great but aren’t as durable as i would have hoped for.
No matter if it’s pistols, pussies, pistons or pocket knives, it needs lubrication!

Victory hlr and don’t look back. I have long had the stance that the axis was the best .204 arrow in the market. After playing with the HLR for months. I have changed my mind. HLR is also lighter 7.3gpi vs 9.5gpi on the 350/340 spines.

In my opinion all 4mm shafts compromise durability in my opinion.

I have shot the 4mm FMJs for years. They are very durable. I’m terrible with bouts of target panic and will regularly launch arrows well off the target. The ones I can find are almost always undamaged. The aluminum keeps the carbon from splintering and the carbon inside keeps the aluminum from bending.

I went with them because i was shooting 56 pounds from a shoulder injury and wanted “less drag” while trying to get pass thru’s on deer. I have shot 3 deer with them so far. One broke after going thru both shoulders and the fletching stopping on far shoulder and deer ran by a tree and broke it off. The last 2 were fine after pass thru’s.

Shooting HLR this year and the components are junk in my opinion. Took me an hour to get a dozen to spin straight. May switch to the podium archer halfouts

I don’t use standard inserts so I can’t evaluate those. I have been using aftermarket for years. Either iron will or ethics archery. I hot melt so I can easily switch them to a different set up when I decide to change arrows.

But for what it’s worth I have not seen that problem on forums.
