    Default Spot and Stalk

Deer hunt turned into a pig hunt yesterday afternoon. My cousin and I were hunting together and we walked up on this one on the way to our stands., wind was in our favor and we made it to 30yds where I was finally able to get a good clear shot.

Excellent! Shooting from the ground is always more exciting than ambushing from a stand.

I didn't realize you were a bow hunter too.

If it weren’t for how the upstate season is set up I wouldn’t be a bow hunter

Stalking hogs with the bow is a good time.

Nice work. Spot and Stalk hogs is a real challenge with a bow,....not so much for a rifle.

I appreciate you posting something that actually has to do with hunting. Good stuff.

I did the same Saturday except i just got bored and got tired of getting rained on and blown out by every deer that got within 50 yards. I decided I’d work up a little water oak bottom to look for a pig. It took me exactly 40 yards of walking to find a big dumb boar rooting around except I missed him somehow but I wasn’t too upset. I did get my arrow back so that was a plus. Hogs are a dumb animal he ran towards me after I shot I wasn’t sure if he was doing so intentionally until he stopped and looked at me from about 6 yards away while I tried to noc another arrow.
