    Default The opener

Man, I love Labor Day weekend. Football with friends and family and a mighty fine dove shoot today. Wes killed his first dove today, and flying to boot. Great time with great friends. Ain't much like that sticky blood in the webbing of your fingers.

Looks like a great time! I haven't shot a dove in 3 or 4 years. Nothing better than an opening day shoot. Congrats to all!

Took the boat out in the morning and caught a few bream with the kids, killed a limit of dove in the afternoon, birds flew great, weather was as good as any opener I remember, rolled back into Boone at 9 and its 55°.

    It was a good day.

Great job all around. I miss shooting doves. Was able to get on some late season invites last year. Fingers crossed for this year.

Kilt 3 today. Didn't get in the field till 3, hunt ended at 6... Chief had a good time retrieving em, life is good. I missed September, dearly.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

    Gooo Wes...

We went to a "shoot" yesterday morning... after two of the kids swept me with their guns at 30 feet I decided no dove was worth it and left. Coulter was some kind of bummed out. He had been practicing with his BB gun for weeks. We went and scouted a spot for this weekend that might have a bird... Never fired a shot.

    Congratulations Wes. Job well done.

Had our first shoot ever at a field the club made this year. My grandson killed a ringneck dove out of the air and my son shot one dove. I didn't kill anything but had a good time with my son and grandson. Birds just weren't there.
