Firestick TV??

We got out Internet now on a mesh & we wanna have a tv outside sometimes on the porch by the pool & hot tub. Anyone have any recs for a firestick tv?

By fire stick do you mean a tv that you download the streaming apps onto without need a Roku or other usb plug in?

IMHO, I'd look at eBay for an Android box. 10x the processing power and usually they have the necessary apps already installed where you can view new movies for free. When my smart TV seems laggy on some things, I can usually crank up my Android box and remedy the issue.

Or, another thing you could do is get a Roku stick. We use one when traveling.

Personally, I hate the "Firestick" OS layout. But, if you're already accustomed to it, then it may be beneficial to you.

I have a Firestick and Sling... can watch what I like. Happy with it for the last 8 years.

If you are used to using fire stick, then you can use it with pretty much any new tv. If you get a regular smart tv, you can just switch it to the input that the fire stick is plugged into and do everything from there. You can also get a fire tv which will work just like the fire stick without having to have one. My parents have a nice smart tv, but it was too much for them. They just keep it on the input that the fire stick is plugged into and do everything through that. They are able to get by with just one remote doing that as well.

I have a Firestick plugged into an OLD 42" TV and it does all I want to do. I use it to access YouTube TV etc...

I AM considering dropping Spectrum internet for Lumos/T-Mobile fiber since the Spectrum dudes apparently punched a hole in my septic drain field burying the line a couple of weeks ago.

Forget all of those and get you a Veesee box. One time fee up front, don’t have to jail break it, 1000’s of movies, even movies that are in theaters, local channels and any sport channel you can imagine. No monthly fees. I have two of the V3’s.

I can literally get any channel I want. There are tons and tons of sports channels. I was skeptical at first until several friends got them and started telling me about them. I bought one to try it out and now I have one on both tv’s in my house. I will add them to any other tv’s we put in also.

Like I said, an Andorid box. Sorry, I guess I should have mentioned streaming sports, too.

While the VSEEBOX is a very viable option for lots of folks lacking technological skills, that $275 seems a little steep if you know your way around tech. $50 actually goes a long way in this game: https://www.ebay.com/itm/326259488680

It's going the be the amount of RAM and the side of the HD. The RAM is going to help with keeping a steady stream, especially when there's high-use of the internet in the house. Some folks like to queue up downloads so they don't have to rely on a steady stream. Lots of the boxes have slots for external SD cards, so a huge internal HD isn't that big of a deal, unless you are slack and don't keep up with your video library.

Meh. Maybe. My box is over 4 years old and still chugging along. Granted, I rarely use it anymore, but I keep it updated and it still works.

Like I said, $275 is worth it for those not wanting to deal with things like that...
