Also, try to omit “solid back wall” as a scoring metric when looking at bows. Every bow made right now uses string stops. Both cams roll over, then, if in time they both hit the control cable at the same time. If one back wall feels better than another then either the bow is out of time, or you are shooting a different let off % from bow to bow.

Rant over. I’ve been in my bow shop since 5am because a lot of people forgot that deer season will once again come around this September.

Just a question. I have never shot a peep. My dad taught me to shoot without a peep. The theory was you couldn’t see through it at dark. I’ve never known any other way. Anyone else like this?
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands

You’ll be more accurate with a peep. I shoot a 3/16” or 7/32” just depending on string angle, and push my sight out to where the sight housing sits just inside the peep ring. Go with a 1/4” if you’re concerned with light gathering.

ETA: sight in your peep at the mid range you plan on shooting. If you’re going to shoot to 100y for fun, sight in your peep at 50y. Meaning slide your peep up/down in the string to where it’s comfortable if you’re shooting at 50y

Like Wiz said you'll be more accurate with a peep. I've always preferred a 1/4" to let more light in and never had a problem shooting at dusk dark.

I haven't tried their grip, I was gonna order one but I ended up putting a Contour on mine because my shop let me try it and I liked it. Same with my release, ended up with a Stan Onnex because that's what my shop sells. I try to do as much business with them as I can since I finally found one that acted like they actually appreciated my business.

I bought the Mathews edition UV sight because I like the .15 pins and Wiz cut me a helluva deal on it. Lol

How's the pin brightness on the new models? I heard they have improved it but I've only looked through the original sight.

    This thread has me thinking...

I probably should put my bow back together and shoot it once or twice.

OK, I liked it a lot, it shot well with no vibration. I don't know much about the sight other than it's a range finder built in and after I get it set up, it's supposed to be pretty cool. I got something I can pull back and fling sticks down the driveway at targets with my boys and go hunt at the club 5 minutes from my house. Let's face it, shooting a deer or pig at 70yds max with a rifle isn't much of a challenge and I'm pretty bored with hunting like that.

On another note, my boy derailed the V3 (not a dry fire) and I had to order new strings and cables because it chewed one up. I thought Winner's Choice stuff was supposed to be good, those cables and string may have 300 shots on them total. Think he was tired and torqued the bow, Irby St. is getting mods for it and setting it up better for him now.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Coming from a MBG I think everything is going to disappoint if you’re looking for bright af. The gen 2 UV stuff is getting close to HHA and axcel for pin brightness, but not quite there. Biggest pro for the UV is their illumination works flawlessly and doesn’t rattle.

Peeps are no problem, even after dark.

I can’t speak to the other UV sights because this is the only one I’ve looked through, but pin brightness isn’t an issue, and the integrated light with the selectable brightness is great.

Heck of a bow. I’ve been overly impressed with elite of late. When setting up/tuning use the provided spacers to get the wheeling in the center, then use the S.E.T for micro tuning to clean up your tear. Making huge adjustments with the SET to try to clean up a big tear introduces a new set of problems, just use it for micro adjustments. It’s an awesome feature when setup correctly.
