    Default Trapping and Turkeys

I've always wondered why agencies pour money into studies when there are property managers that have the Turkey issue figured out. Wouldn't money be better utilized in implementation of those activities?

Trapping on public land is a lawsuit waiting to happen! It’s also a PR nightmare waiting to happen.

That being said I completely agree with you!

That would be asking SCDNR and NWTF to do something that made sense for turkeys. Why the hell would they do that instead of looking out for their own self interest and lining their own pockets?

Unfortunately in today’s times organizations like NWTF are run like massive corporations and in doing so common sense goes right out the window. SCDNR is a government agency and runs as such. It’s that simple! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, all public land should be managed by private companies and the model for that is already in place on DOD land!

Like every Fish and Game agency, it's because scdnr is a regulator of human conduct, not a land manager. That's not a negative, it's just a reality.

99% of people that trap or want to trap won’t put forth that kind of effort and if trapping doesn’t continue at that intensity it will fill back in just as quickly

Very well put. But I’ve seen some regulators of human conduct make WAAAAAY better decisions in other states concerning the resource than here; especially noticeable out West.
