We had a storm hit us in Lexington Saturday night that was about as bad as I can remember. Just after dark. Wind came up as I was watching out the back windows. I was thinking, "that's pretty sporty" when the blast hit. In about 5 seconds, I lost a big oak (uprooted) and the big tops out of three others in a space about 60 feet wide. Chaos. I was wondering if it was a microburst or some un-reported tornado that briefly touched down. Right between the dam and Lexington proper.
30 seconds after it hit, I was on the phone with my tree guy. He sent a guy out Sunday to give me an estimate. $3200. My lot is an acre and all wooded. Started out in 2019 with 14 oaks. Down to about 10 now after Helene and other issues.
