    Default Upstate tornadoes late tonight

Not like you can do anything about it, but here you go...

Isolated storms, possible tornadoes expected in the Carolinas tonight

    May 20, 2025

    Chris Justus
    Chief Meteorologist

Isolated storms and tornadoes are possible in parts of South Carolina and North Carolina Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

Scattered thunderstorms push into the area around 10 p.m. Tuesday and continue overnight, ahead of the cold front. The mountains should absorb the brunt of this, but the Upstate will also get in on some of the action.

The highest risk for severe weather is between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Winds are the main risk, but hail or an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. In this environment, far western North Carolina has the highest risk of seeing the severe weather as the storms push in from Tennessee.

Thursday brings temperatures more indicative of early April or even September as overnight lows return to the 50s and afternoon highs in the 70s.

This continues through Memorial Day weekend with just slight chances for rain as of now.

    Troof.

The storms woke me up around 2300. Went back to sleep. The drive to hell was interesting as most of the traffic lights were blinking and the Lemmings just blasted through intersections like their hair was on fire and their azzes were catching.

    Fun times

We got rain.. looked like it was going to dissipate before it reached here. Yeah, don't know why I was up, but it looked nasty up there coming through.
