I've spent enough money on quail charities this year, and I've refused to shoot a bird out of the only covey I've seen on our property in years. I feel like that makes me artsy and caring.

No kidding- I'll drive for free beer and a chance to spend money. There isn't squat around here. They were trying for awhile to get a Ruffed Grouse group started here. Had about 6 guys show up- You have to drive to TN if you want to attend any sort of fundraiser or banquet for them. I haven't been to the DU event in many years, I'm not even sure if they are still having any events.

The Spartanburg DU banquet was last Thursday. You should come Harry Hampton Banquet in Spartanburg next March. It’s a pretty big one. 800+ attendees

Folks, I am the Quail Forever (QF) RxFire Coordinator for the state. In this role I oversee all of QFs RxFire and 90% of the boots on the ground habitat work being done by, with, and through QF in South Carolina. I can without a doubt say that we, along with the SCDNR Farm Bill Bios, are making some serious strides in quail restoration efforts, far more than any other organization like us! I am on at least 3 properties a month where the landowners are seeing more and more wild quail! And these are properties that haven’t really historically (the last 20years) seen birds! Toof, I’m with ya on the semantics of the name of the chapter! Nonetheless QF is unique to the non-profit world in that all money raised at events stays with the chapter. In fact we had a meeting not too long ago to propose projects throughout the state that the chapters could fund! The Lowcountry Chapter in particular funded, through a very generous donation, the seed needed to plant 40+ acres of Brood Habitat on multiple WMA properties. Stay tuned for the eventual announcement of a Columbia Chapter this summer! Lastly, if you are in the Newberry area this Thursday and care about Quail come see us!!!

i'm east middle midlands but not so bad that i'm sumter. I sure as shit at nooberry.
