Monte is a 3 run homer guy. All that bat velocity and launch angle BS will produce slow walks back to the dugout.

I am from the Tony Gwinn / Pete Rose camp. Put the ball in play and make the defense field it, throw it and make a play at a bag. Lots of stuff can happen when the ball is rolling around on the ground.

I don't know his philosophy on hitting but if that's it he better make a 180 based on the power in this lineup. After what I watched all weekend they need to switch to boat paddles instead of bats. I'm with you G, good things happen when you keep putting it in play.

What does Carolina have on the bench? We were at the game Saturday and sat in right field. Carolina's right fielder looks injured. He jogged with a noticeable limp and short hopped the ball on routine warm up throws. Is the cupboard that bare or is he getting playing time because he's a senior?

I heard today that Kennedy Jones hurt his shoulder Friday night and that's why he didn't play in Sunday's game but I'm pretty sure he was in left field. No idea why the RF was limping around.
