I've thought about that too...there are "no fishing" signs, but from what I can see it does not appear to be private. I'm sure highway patrol would pay a visit if driving by, though.

Right now it's the only fishing I do being outside Atlanta, I can assure you when in Savannah 95% will be saltwater and back to my roots but I do enjoy some early spring and fall bass fishing.

That's certainly an option and something I will try at some point, but from what I've heard those river fish don't typically get all that big so not sure I'd focus most of my freshwater trips there. I do think the stripers in the brackish areas of the Altamaha and Savannah river sound like a blast though and hope to find some of those.
