    Thanks Ring King. I've seen a few Common's. I could have killed a drake this year but I would have never gotten to his dead body so I didn't shoot. Working on a plan/way during the off season. If M1A1 knows of the location of some common mergansers, he's got some 'splain' to do why he hadn't mentioned it to me...I had a hen backdoor me on the coast but I didn't get a shot off and she refused to re-decoy. She just sat out in the middle of the channel. I've also found a couple of drakes but didn't have a boat handy. See below.

    We are so covered up in commons out here that it’s not even funny!! Clear Lake has several thousand on it eating all the silversides and I could hit a dozen with a cast at almost any moment while fishing up there!
    Back on the West Coast in Northern California. Got four more years here and then I'm out in 2028!!
