I want a good flashlight for blood tracking at night. Couldn’t find any recent threads. Please make a recommendation? Money is no object because I ain’t paying for it.

Streamlight strion. Small enough to put in your pocket or not take up much space in a pack, rechargeable with good battery life and plenty bright. Had one for years, haven’t broken it yet.

Another vote for the stream light strion.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

The brightest setting is unreal. It does get hot though on that one!
Curious if anyone else has one of these. I got it as a gift a few years ago.
I know the stream light has a "round" beam, but what about some of these other brands y'all are mentioning? I have an off brand light I use that is pretty bright, but it has a square beam, and my OCD doesn't like a square beam on a flashlight.

I recently got one of these and it's awesome. It's also magnetic and nice to stick to the side of the truck etc.
For long tough tracks I use a Stanley fatmax spotlight. Stays in the truck till I need it.
I’ve realized with my eyes I can’t see blood as well with LED lights. Old Coleman lanterns used to work great.
Streamlight Polytac is my favorite do-all, and also for tracking. Simple, lightweight, compact, dual clip is nice, and relatively cheap if you lose it. The plastic housing doesn’t hurt your teeth if you have to hold it there to free up your hands for something.
Buy a few of these batteries so you don’t have to fool with those expensive smaller ones.
