My wife actually picked cotton unlike most of those talking about picking. Poor whites also picked cotton by hand along side blacks. Funny thing going down 321 a couple weeks ago and there was cotton on both sides of the road at Lowery. I asked her if she want me to stop so she could pick a little cotton she replied in an unkind fashion.
