The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Yeah, grenades are good to go.

However, destructive devices kinda blow up quickly and leave you pretty empty handed.

However, you can do some neat little chalk rounds very economically.

This definitely feels like government overreach. But in reality it’s simple to mail off two of the forms once a year the covers you for 365 days. They will send you one of the forms back stamped approved. Usually takes two weeks

He's referring to taking a SBR across state lines.

In order to take a Short Barrel Rifle out of state you have to file paperwork asking for approval. And from what understand you have to be specific on where you’re going with it, ie an address. I don’t believe you can just say traveling through North Carolina to get some BBQ. Hopefully the experts will correct me if I’m wrong.

If you buy a registered SBR from a dealer, then there is no engraving needed. It's already a SBR and you pay the $200 transfer tax when you purchase it.

If one is "manufactured" by an individual (barrel chopped, or rebarreled, or swapping a braced pistol to a stock, etc) then the "end user" is technically manufacturing a SBR. When one does so, the "manufacturer" (that being you or your legal entity -- Trust or LLC) must engrave the receiver with the information. Either first & last name + city & state, or the name of the Trust or the name of the LLC.

    Basically, it's your own "rollmark."

Getting it engraved is pretty easy. I sent mine to Tarheel State Armory and they laser engraved it in micro font and had it back in 3 days. I don't remember the cost but it was insignificant.

Innovative Arms (in Camden) does my stuff. $45 a pop. Philip can laser engrave polymer, too; I know some NFA engravers aren't doing that yet.

If we are talking the AR-15 platform, let me build you one using an East Lake Industries lower, no engraving would be required.

Anybody want to share SBR pics? Y’all can keep the silly braced weapons to yourself. As Feets would say….. Go be poor somewhere else…
Serious question, why are they silly braced weapons? Not as accurate, lower fit/finish? Looking for the pros and cons SBR vs Pistol/Brace.
