Not sure what the chart says, but I sure love the front side of a North wind in late October.

Psalm 42:1 "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God."
My shooters have vanished as of right now,, the 2nd week in October was fire, I suspect that the mature deer are locked down with the few does that have came in. The chart that Rubberhead put out is on the money as of right now, we will see how the warmer weather plays out in the next big jump in activity dates.
"I am a man, not an animal and I always try to conduct myself accordingly. Doing anything less is just giving up and expecting (and being okay) with failure."

The chart is very much worth looking at. I have shared it with friends.

RH- you’ve made me a believer. It’s that season of life where hunting days are awfully hard to come by between work and four active kids- Jv games on Thursday night, varsity on Friday, and everyone going every other way on the weekends, not to mention a brutal work/travel schedule. Have hunted once and that was with my 9 yo. Checked your forecast against my schedule and realized that I could slip out for the afternoon today. Grabbed my gear and was at the farm by 4:30. Hadn’t been able to check stands since September and when I got to my spot, it was chock full of wasps. Ran to another stand a few hundred yards away that I knew had wasp spray. It, too, had wasps. Climbed up and grabbed the spray and got to battling the wasps. Climbed down and was sneak attacking the stragglers when I heard a stomp. Looked up and there’s a big bodied deer staring at me down one of the spokes about 140 yards away. Crouched down and crab walked to my gun. Snuck back up to the edge and he was still there. Slid one in the chamber and held as steady as I know how while free handing. Felt okay and squeezed it off. Dropped (just a touch high!- and not just a touch). Solid 8 point- looks to be a 4 year old deer. Hunt over at 4:40. Thanks for getting me out there- I wouldn’t have without your chart.

Doubling down on the above endorsement. Ended up sitting until dark. Right at dark the very big 8 we have had on camera came out 40 yards away but 90 degrees to my right. Locked me down and I couldn’t even think about getting my gun up. He melted back into the pines. Buck I did shoot was almost certainly a 4 year old. Weighed 198.5 lbs.

I'm not seeing anything in the upstate.
Carolina Counsel,
That's exactly why I started messing with the forecast in the first place. My son was new in the workforce without much vacation to burn so I was trying help him maximize his time off.
That's an awesome buck. Thanks and congratulations.

Hunted most of the last two days and saw a few does mostly young bucks. Did see a better buck Tuesday evening and a big one Wednesday morning at 10:40. I do believe there are some bucks locked down.

I haven't seen a mature buck on camera in a week and very few does. I'm guessing they're locked down with does in my area.
