    Default Help with Chainsaw

Poulan 260 R Pro..almost had it cranked yesterday and decided to let it sit and try it again today. Lots of work to be done thanks to Helene so if anyone has any helpful tips to maybe get this thing going Id appreciate it.

    New spark plug
New oil/gas mix and topped off
    Bar oil is full

Set it to on, pull the choke out, and 5 pulls..turn the choke off and give 5 more pulls and nothing..not even a whimper. Thanks in advance.

Possible culprits; spark plug wire, carburetor, I've seen fuel lines break off inside the tank so wasn't anything there to suck it up and feed it to the carb.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

More than likely carburetor issue. With the fuel we have today it kills small engines. Bought a Stihl chainsaw and was.told to use non ethanol or it voids the warranty.

Carb, but if you really want to fix it throw it in the trash and go buy a new Stihl or Husqvarna.

Pull it with the choke on until it sputters. Then flip it to the revved up notch and it should crank within 3 pulls. Try hitting it with some starter fluid. As stated, it's usually carb issues. Always use non-ethanol gas in any small engine. Seafoam too.

if it's been sitting, the carb is gummed up.
Important to crank things like chainsaws, generators, outboards about once a month
and let em run for a few minutes. Only put non-ethanol fuel and stabilizer in stuff that sits

Give it a shot of starting fluid and try it. If nothing , you either got no spark or no compression or bith
