And rain probably won’t help my backyard, bullshit food plots.
already emptied 6" out of my gauge in Columbia...

We planted in Barnwell 3 weekends ago. We got a little rain Fri night/Sat morning which kept the dust down and hopefully kick started everything. Not much rain since until today. Planning on heading down tomorrow afternoon if everything isn't a mess up here.
I planted my plots this past weekend and the first of this week based on farmers telling me years ago that the closer to October 1st, the less weeds you will have. This has worked out great. The dust was do bad that at times I could not see the steering wheel on the tractor while tilling slowly. Already have seen over 8" there according to a weather app. They are all mostly flat so there should be no runoff. I planted a mixture of wheat, oats, soybeans, and winter peas with the 6 row planter I use and went back with a small hand held speader to sow white clover, radish, turnips and rape. I have done this for many years and have not seen prettier plots anywhere.
I only hunt on days that end in "y"!
Waiting on army worms to die down before we plant , sucks but have had them wipe out plus i have seen too much rain from these storms
Got my stuff plowed up waiting for seed but will have to run over again
Hopefully I may be able to get them in ground Sunday but we will see
But really wish I had taken time Sunday afternoon to go ahead and plant

Planted plots on 2 places last night and this morning. Needed some moisture to even disk plots on another property. May be able to get on those next. Corn picker busted Sunday evening, so I hope that the corn is still able to be picked if/when I can get it pulled apart and find the bearing.
1200lb of seed went into 14 plots this week. We anticipated 1.5-2” of rain… 7” so far since 8am.
