If you’re looking for lightweight climbing sticks I’d steer clear of the latitudes. My top step broke at about 18ft and the lineman belt caught before I hit the bottom.
Anybody got some recommendations for new climbing sticks?

Novix minis with cable aiders hard to beat with amsteel rope mods
Glad you’re okay .
There's a fine line between HARDCORE AND IGNORANCE!
It break when you stopped on the step or the aider ?

Damn glad to hear you are ok man!
I highly recommend Beast Sticks.
I use an EWO one stick on pines and stuff with no branches. And SRT the rest. Beats sticks by a lot.
And I'm a big heavy fat guy. So you can also do it....
I use an api ladder I never could get comfortable getting off the sticks onto the stand. How old was the lineman rope? I've noticed after a few seasons the knot feels a bit loose.
Damn! Glad you were attached.
As far as sticks, I've been 1 sticking with the Big Bob from OOAL for 3 years now and haven't looked back.
Scary stuff! I took a fall at 20’ years ago when a dry rotted strap broke on the ladder. Not cool!!! Glad you are good!
If you give 10 people a bag of gold, someone will complain about how heavy it is!
Glad you are ok!
That's chilling.

XOP X2 sticks……you won’t regret carrying the extra pound
Those have a lower weight limit than most, so I bought the one sticks. I wish they had a bigger offset but have been solid, put real deal amsteel aiders on two and use a three step aider on the bottom stick.
Im running the new Grit by Tethrd and love them.

It was a lineman rope that wraps around the tree for saddle hunting. I normally keep my weight against the rope while climbing but I was standing on the top stick unhooking the saddle platform so the rope went slack. I would have went straight to the ground but my foot went in my step aider on the second stick and spun me upside down and the rope caught the tree. Don't know how it didn't break my leg. Lost some skin on my arms and took some meat off my thigh but nothing bad.
I fell 16' back in the mid 80's. It was no fun at all as you can imagine. Glad you're OK.
Another chance for someone somewhere to see proof of why you should be tied off from the moment you leave the ground until the moment you are back on the ground.
It just is NOT worth it. All it takes is once.
I am a nobody, that met somebody, that can save anybody.
Glad you are ok.
