Thoughts on Death Penalty

Since we are on eve of first execution in SC in 13 yrs just curious as to folks thoughts on the actual Death Penalty

Guess as I get older I have some what mixed emotions but the law is the law is way I look at it

That being said it has got to be perfectly clear that the soul that is being taken is guilty of said crime. This day and age we have more cut and dry cases where it should be imposed.

I agree 100%. If you did it quick you would see the murder rate plummet! It has really got out of hand with all this gang bs.

Problem I see with it is time it takes to execute someone , to me that it is why it really is not a deterrent

If used fairly quickly in these cut and dry cases it would at least get attention but probably never be a deterrent

Part of that reason is b/c of the lack of the drug and fear that folks will find out which big pharma is supplying it. Now that those details have been worked out and the electric chair and firing squad are "approved" again, may SC can get something done. The appeals process also drags the cases out forever. I'd like to know who's paying the lawyers.

Freddie Eugene Owens, 46, is set to be the first person to be executed in South Carolina in 13 years. His lawyer chose lethal injection over the firing squad or electric chair after Owens turned the decision over to her.

Owens is being sent to the death chamber for the killing of Greenville convenience store clerk Irene Graves in 1997. While awaiting sentencing after being found guilty in her death, Owens killed a fellow jail inmate in a brutal attack, authorities said, Prosecutors read Owens' confession before the two juries and judge who decided he should die. He was never tried in the inmate's death.

Gathering facts and determining whodunnit. Take some time, but when the facts come out, let her rip.

However, I will say, The Innocence Project has helped many wrongfully accused individuals get off The Row.

It kinda sucks when your life can literally depend on a jury, media, lawyers, and shitty circumstances.

The controversy is bullshit. They keep pitching about the drug to be used May or may not give instant results. BS. Borrow, with no intention of giving it back, some of the fentanyl inthe dam. Evidence room and give the sorry basters the ride of there life
