That's awesome. Have all their first deer been with the .243 I sold you? That thing is a straight up killer. We killed several with it using Corelokts. Never had a tracking issue, but who knows, quality could be going down.

So far the one I bought from you hasn't been shot at a deer yet. It's just the rotation. My daughter carried that one on Saturday and she got skunked. She killed her first last year with my wife's .25-06 but she loves that little .243.

On the corelokts; there was a bloodtrail. But the types of trails were drop, go 10 feet, another drop. 3-5 yards, more blood specks/drops. It was a trackable trail as noted by the dead critter pics but we had to take our time on them. Both had me wondering where they were hit. Once I saw the shot placements on the deer I was shocked how little blood we found. Both had a chest full. But the exit holes were both .243 inches in diameter. I need nickel to quarter size holes and lots of leakin' for my old eyes.

10-4. Spectacular killin' none the less. I always let my daughters track deer. My eyes are old and I'm red/green colorblind. Makes for a fun tracking experience unless they're pouring.

Glenn, any razzing about point tallies between the two boys' deer? I certainly hope you encourage such nonsense.

The teacher in my wife came out and she threw down the "no bullying policy" over antler points and size quick, fast and in a hurry.

I told him to save it for when it was needed then he could let his brother know who killed the bigger deer.

    That is awesome.

I'm going to have to try the dry fire idea with my grandson. He's rock solid on the second shot but less so on the first shot of the day. Targets or deer.
