Race Weekend update:
It was a full moon type weekend.
Friday practice went smooth, just Pathfinder #2 (10 car) and Mini mod #33. We didn't have time to address the overheating in the other mini mod so we left it home.

Hovered around the top 5 in practice, Qualified 6th, pulled a 5 card. Fell back to 8th after the 75 lapper. Ran nose to tail with the front pack for a awhile, just didn't have enough to make a run.

No damage to the Pro Late, so that's a victory.
The Mini mod. Well now that where things got interesting. Short story is we got parked after the heat race.
The long...our mini mod driver #33 is the arch nemesis of the current points leader. We live inside this mans head, he hate competition.
Here is a famous shot from a cpl years back when he fenced us for some backstory.

Well cpl laps into the heat race we give him a knock on the rear bumper in 3 & 4 to let him know we are there. Well he then tried to break check us down the front straight (while he was leading). We dodged him, passed by him then he torpedo bombed us in 1 & 2, never lifted, then flipped us off at the pit gate. No caution and we get her going. Cool down lap comes out and we chase him down and turn his ass under caution. Payback.
He chases us out the pit gate, swerves into our pit to stop, talk shit whatever. F-you's, hands, fists, Mf'rs are flying everywhere, crew guys, officials, more yelling. We are all parked.
Ironic thing is i used to drive mini mods for this other guy a few years ago, he was a jackass then and still a jackass now.
Race Track Drama.
^^^^ That is an awesome story! There are some strong personalities at a track- no doubt.
Cravin' me some boiled p-nuts

The penalty box update came out. Our driver got parked for the last 2 races. We figured it. So did the other guy and his crew for the pit lane BS. Well the dude lost his mind, went crazy on the internet, talked shit on us, the track, officials, heck even think he talked shit about his dog. He went as far a making a fake Insta account mimicking the track so he could talk shit. Well, that one earned him a PERMANENT suspension from the track and grandstands. He lost that battle in the end. I've never seen a grown man go so mental.
Well now on to the build update.
Put the remote fill on the new fuel cell.

Got the nose set and all of the nose/fender bracing done. Trimmed and refit the radiator air box. (yeah I know left front hood and fender aren't perfect. That's how you get a good deal on a body.)

Getting closer to thinking about firing this thing.
The motor has NOT been fired in a LONG time.
Any tips on that process so I don't F something up big time??
MAVTV Prolate race this weekend with the 2 Pathfinders. Season is winding down.
Soon, ducks.
Looking good, Jason! I just got done at the shooting range with your dad.
LOL!! I've known him since he joined our church. Going to go elk hunting in Wyoming with him and the Pastor in a couple weeks.
Will do! Good luck!
As The Wrench Turns: Update on the silly cars going in circles Stuffs.
No Mini Mod's this race and our driver is suspended from on track actives. We decided to play in the grey area and bring the Mini Mod out for Friday's open test but I'd drive it instead.

Pulled up to the gate for practice and the guys in the tower didn't know what to do...lol.. Well the driver is suspended not the car we say. After a long conversation with the tower we are on track!
Got to run a good 50 to 60 laps. It has been a couple years since I've drove but man it was like riding a bike. Felt really good and ran competitive laps in just the second session.
Fri we were top 5 speeds with both pathfinders amongst some strong cars.
Sat we go P4. & P8 in practice, qualifying we ran a good lap but everyone picked up. We went P8 and P10. Top 12 cars all under 2 tenths.
Race time and we pull a 8 and 10 lol same spot as we qualified.

Sniffed the top 5 for the first 50. Then Halftime break for adjustments.

So 7 laps after the break 5th place car to our outside cuts a tire spins down track and clips us in the rear. Boom, then a wall tap, then more Boom. Done.

DNF with Pathfinder #1 (10 car) and a 8th with Pathfinder #2 (45 car) Those are the up and downs of racing. Things happen so fast.
Not much work on the Limited this week, just some hood pin stuff (not worth pic's) and installed a repurposed window net, which came out pretty clean.

Took a break from some updates on the silly cars going in circles cause I knew y’all were going through some serious stuff out in your parts.
Couple weeks off so went to the track as a spectator for the ARCA race. Nice crowd, haven’t seen that many people at my home track in a few years. Live music and pretty good racing. Handful of our prolate guys were in the race so that was cool to see.

Not a whole lot of visual progress on the limited, been more in a parts collecting mode for the next round of changes/upgrades. Pulled the radiator of a flush and finished the airbox up.
Grabbed a set of low lap tires (only benefit of getting crashed out early) and wrapped them up.

Got the #10 car as patched up as best we can for the 10k race this Sat, just need to repurpose a RF fender. No sense putting new panels on, they will just get ripped off again this race.

Switched the #45 Pathfinder over from E85 back to 110 and took her up north to test. (post to follow)
So we have a big 200 lapper coming up this Sat. Our #45 car runs E85 (man I love the smell of E85 especially if the fuel is a little ‘hot’) but we don’t have the mileage to run 100 straight laps, so we had to switch it over to 110 fuel.
We took the car up North, to the snoop dog track. It didn’t disappoint, second hand flying around everywhere, it’s just what we expect now..lol

Same story as our last few races, fast in practice, qualified 4th, drew a 6. Watched the top 5 drive away from us and just didn’t have race trim speed. We are just still searching for that long run speed with the big motor.

Off to our home track for a full day of testing tomorrow and then the 200 lapper 10K to win finale. Should be a pretty good car count with the chance of a B-main LCQ.
Update on those silly car’s going in circles stuffs.
10k to win end of the year finale.
Friday practice goes smooth for us but we are just searching for that last bit of speed, load up for the night and prep for a long day tomorrow.

Car count was not as good as expected with the Vegas CARS Tour race the night before. A couple drivers pulled the double (in different cars) but it hurt the car count forsure.
Short Track Ace ran the Super and Pro race in Vegas (finished second in both), then came here overnight to lead practice and put it on the pole with the fastest lap put down this year.
Qualifying was super tight, the top 10 cars were all within .1 seconds which is frigging crazy. We went 13th & 14th out of 23 or so and we ran one of our fastest laps, on a normal race it would have put us top 5.
The track was fast, they sprayed the bottom grove. I love when they spray the track, the painted areas get super tacky and grippy.
So we miss the re-draw with both cars. No biggie it’s a 200 lapper, just have to stay out of trouble for a while.

Bad luck enters the chat on lap 30 and we toast the Trackstar unit (rear torque sensing unit $$$). That’s it, done for the #10 car, still have unused tires and fuel.
#45 car we ride around 10th or so, get spun before the half and have to go to the back, so we just ride ‘til half.
Make it to the break, change right sides, fill her with fuel, cool down our driver and hope for the best.
Second half we start at the tail, race leaders are setting a super fast pace and catch us battling for position. We absolutely kill our brakes go a lap down and that’s about it.
Short track Ace leads most of the race but a local youngster caught him with about 15 to go and really put the pressure down. Some great racing and a pass for the lead with just under 10 to go. Local kid wins, Short track Ace get his third 2nd place in 2 nights.
We limp it to the finish and go home with our tail between our legs. That’s racing. Looks like that’s it for us.
Off-season maintenance and builds and DUCKS up next.
Side note: They had to bring out the ambulance two different times that night and load someone up, so that is always unfortunate to see. Hope they are both doing better now.
