    Default Upstate mast crop

I hunt mostly in Abbeville & MCcormick counties been doing a lot of scouting and checking for acorns and persimmons for bow season. I have not seen any acorns Usually by now u will find some on the ground being cut out by squirrels. Also glassing the tops of oak trees, nothing. Also checked a lot of persimmon trees a few trees had some fruit but not much. Was wondering what others are finding?

Greenwood county on the Edgefield county line Northern Red oaks (multiple) are dropping and getting hammered as usual.

Some green white oak acorns on the ground from wind and or squirrels

You need a helmet to walk in the woods in central NC with all the red oaks falling. Whites are still holding tight.

My tractor laid down on me last Thursday, so I got to take an unexpected check the oaks type hike through the woods to get back to the road.

    Seeing a good persimmon crop,

Have not paid any attention to the acorns, but based on the increase in squirrel activity in my front yard I’d say there’s plenty on the trees around the house

You and your dog allow squirrels in your yard? I figured all squirrels in a 3 mile radius of your house was dead by now.

He's releasing them now. It's the new thing in the elite squirrel clique.

That's interesting. Our persimmon crop is terrible.

The yard squirrels are kept around for training purposes.

Hondo is barking at one from his pen now as I type this. Watching them go across the yard and up and through a few trees is actually a beneficial thing for them. Makes them timber well with a squirrel in the woods
