Folks with a Cert. of Doc. from the USCG for their vessel are listed on a public record.

National Documentation Portal is NOT the USCG.

Year after year I get a renewal notice from the National Documentation Portal, well in advance of the renewal notification the USCG sends out.
This year they ramped up their letterhead to make it look even more "official".
They even have a .us address.

Don't be fooled, there is an extra cost involved for them to do what it normally takes you to renew thru the USCG PayGov site.
Also if they renew prior to 60 days in advance of actual expiration your renewal clock will be reset, cutting short the current one.
