    Default Fuel tank replacement

A friend of mine has a late '90's 23 foot Sea Pro center console that needs the gas tank replaced. Anybody have any recommendations? Thanks

What s the deal here? Leaking fuel into he bilge?

Before cutting the old tank out have him check all the hose clamps! Several are hard to get to but could be an easy fix. has this happen on a seapro a few years back. Only leaked at damn near full tank. Had it in for service and the mechanic told me the tank was cracked, needed to be replaced. Told me he checked everything he could and had to be the tank. Almost cut the damn floor out! Decided to investigate a little on my own. Sure enough, it was a hose clamp at the tank from the fill hose....

Still got the same tank.. Went from a $5,000 fix to a $2.25 fix thankfully!!

Sorry, no recommendations for someone to do the work, BUT

RDS Manufacturing just built one for a Scout 162 for me this past spring. The original was leaking. Not a difficult job to replace. Scout sent me drawing for original tank. Ended up being cheaper than ball-parked by several hundred dollars. Hardest part was determining how much of the floor I had to cut and repair.
Honey...I'll do it after the season is over.

Call Andrew Olsen at Olsen Boatworks. If he can't do it, he will know someone who can in the Charleston Area.

I’ll second this if it’s confirmed to be the tank.
