    Default Mountain Lion Hunt

This is a hunt I’ve always wanted to do and it’s time to go ahead and make it happen.
When I was still on Facebook I followed a page called Whitaker Brothers Hunting Company that offered these hunts in Colorado and several other states. Watched some of their videos of hunts, videos of training dogs, and listened to them on some podcasts. I decided to make them my first call but I have been unsuccessful in establishing any communication with them and have tried for about a week now. So I figured this was the next best place to start some research.

I really don’t have a preference on state, Colorado has always come to mind for this but not a dealbreaker. Neither is hunting conditions, meaning I’m fine hunting dry trail conditions or snow. I just want the best chance possible for success.

Anyone on here done this? States or particular outfitters you would recommend? Any questions (other than their general success rate)I should ask outfitters/guides to help weed through them and make sure I find a good one.

Any help at this point is appreciated

I'd go to Montana and hunt with Jake Herak from Mountain Men. Not sure he guides or kills, but he seems like he'd fun to hang out with. Montana's season runs from Dec -April. Not sure of exact dates, but I'd bet you'd be trekking through snow.

Oh it’s gotta be a kill hunt,

Weapon of choice is going to be a lever action in some .30cal variety or a .44mag

He obviously doesn't kill on the show. He may kill off the show though. May be worth looking into him.

Saw a meme the other day that said if they didn’t have money they weren’t really a cougar, just a stray cat

Shoot me a pm with a way to get ahold of you. I have a good buddy in Utah that get after them. Damn good people, if they can't help you directly, I'm sure they could point you in the right direction. His son has his own dogs and was treeing cats by himself at like 14 years old.

Im checking with my bud who guides here in Wyoming. If he has openings and is cool with me forwarding his contact info to you, I'll shoot you a PM. He kills some mighty big cats. For example...

Guy we elk hunt with in Idaho gets after them. He knows his stuff. Has a killer lodge, horses, public and private land. Grew up where he hunts and lions are his passion. More than fair prices too. We plan to hunt with him for years. Shoot me a PM or call. 843-297-9051
