What is the latest y’all have ever seen a hen actively sitting on a nest? I ask because I bumped a hen off her nest yesterday afternoon walking a field behind the house. Thought it was strange for her to still be on the nest.

Guy at work smashed 2nests 2-3 weeks ago cutting hay. One of the hens got away. Not so lucky on the other one.

I saw a hen with very small poults on Aug 18 several years ago.
Crops are harvested, animals are killed.

I saw a hen with a single quail size poult last week. Only poult I’ve seen this year.
