Default Childhood Dream Fulfilled, Yippie-Ki-Yay MFer!

The year of 1988 cemented the idea that I needed an MP5, at some point in my life; Die Hard deserves the credit, of course. While a real MP5 is now over $50k, I had to settle for the closest available thing.

Steelin' ordered the SP5 pistol about 3 weeks ago. I submitted my Trust Form 1 on the 17th. I got my stamp today (after a few back & forth emails with the ATF to correct an RPQ error).

Suppressor is a SiCo Omega 36M in "short" configuration. The A3F stock arrived yesterday, and I have an A2 stock, as well. Surprisingly enough, the A3 provides more than adequate cheekweld for a 9mm.

Next is a MP5K-PDW clone, but I gotta restock my pennies, first.

    Without further adieu:

You got a trust form one back that quickly? Don’t make my gears spin.

Yup; I like your way of thinking.

I'm thinking about abusing my bank account.

I just wish they'd jump on Trust Form 4's like this!

What was really great is how the agent did the back 'n forth to get me straight on the submission.

We exchanged 4 messages in under 30min. The 5th message was an all caps "APPROVED!"

Seconds later, I had the stamp in my inbox.

The thing looks great, congratulations. I'm glad the approval process is speeding up. I'm starting to see three and four month return times on form 4s.
If any of you guys want to go down this road reach out.

I believe this is the same gun my buddy has. He has a binary trigger on his along with the silencer. Think it took him almost 8 months to get the silencer. Trying to get a video to load but it's not working at the moment. With sub sonic rounds, it's pretty dang quiet.

I'll probably pick up a complete Franklin trigger pack at some point, just for the helluva it. I was sure I didn't wanna do that, but YouTube convinced me otherwise. It'll be a while, though...

The good thing is that I'll be able to swap it between the PDW and the SP5, so that kinda cuts down on the end cost (in my head).

It just sucks that anything HK related is AT LEAST 1.5x more expensive than most stuff. 2x is probably more accurate, though.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say PTR-9C. It's got a Magpul stock & the optic is a Holosun 510.

You are 100% correct, it's a PTR-9C. They can be had for around $1700-$2000 without the magpul stock and Holosun. It's a lot of fun to shoot and will chew thru a box of 50 before you know it. For what it is, the accuracy is pretty good. Recoil is next to nil. The binary trigger he had starts out quick but seems to slow down towards the end. Hard to explain what I mean by this. If anyone wants to message me, I'll send them a video of the binary trigger in action. I can't get the short video to load

PTR has some killer sales a few times a year that puts this and the 9KT under $1,000.

The next $999 9KT I see, I'm snagging it. I wouldn't be surprised if they did this for the 4th.
